Using both pickups, gives you a classic and Rounded Jazz Bass tonality, which is as adept for Slapping and finger playing as it is for aggressive picking. To use the pickups individually, all you have to do is turn down the pickup that you don’t want to use, or blend volumes to find the tonality that you’re after. The bridge pickup has a much brighter bite with less low end emphasis, while the neck pickup offers much more low end characteristics as well as a woody thump.
